PalmInfocenter.com: WiFi Enable Your Palm with a Case
Well ... this is a good idea. Very functional indeed considerting its a 2-in-1 product. You get protection for the Palm and at the same time able get connected to nearby network wirelessly.
It is going to cost USD 169. A good PDA case is normally priced USD 40-60, so the wi-fi capability is the additional USD100 or so.
How useful would this be is another question. I have a handera 330 that can do wi-fi with a wireless CF adapter but find not using it all the time. Reason being, one, it drains power just like I drink Orange Juice, two, not many hotspots is available yet in Malaysia and three. I still cannot log into the 'secured' commercial hotspots using my Handera. However, I am still able to connect to the "open" network ... when I am lucky.
Going back to my "orange Juice" reason above, the developer of this wi-fi case has in fact thought of the shortfall and included a separate Li-ion battery to power the wi-fi module. Smart move but just another piece od gadget to recharge before I go to sleep ...;-)
But it's nice to know such a gadget exists... or is it going to?
