Bye Bye Clie SJ22 and SJ33 .... Hello TJ25 and TJ35
Source:
Brighthand
I blogged about this new Clie a few days ago and I thougt it's only going to be in blue ... I was wrong. This is another picture is a "silver" unit. Another report from Brighthand and Palminfocenter states that the new Clies will come in red, blue, black, pink, white and orange.
This new design will be marketed as 2 models, the Clie PEG-TJ25 and Clie PEG-TJ35 and are said to replace the "slow moving" SJ22 and SJ33. Looks like Sony is moving all its new Clies in the OS 5 playing field. With the introduction of these models, all CLies will run OS5.
These are still rumours, but some expected specification are:
- OS: 5.2
- RAM: 32MB (TJ35); 16MB (TJ25)
- Audio jack (MP3): TJ35 only
- Screen Res: 322x320 (becoming a standard for all Clies now)
- Processor: Motorola i.MXL processor 200MHz
- Size: 11.9mm thickness
TJ35 have Picsel File Viewer, Decuma Handwriting recognition and an MP3 player application. Since it will be running PalmOS 5.2 I expect Grafitti2 will be used as well.
That's all the info for the moment on the specs.
The jog dial for these new models have been moved to the front (the center navigation buttons that look like a roller). Ease of use with this new design ?? ... will have to wait and test it out. I suspect it's not going to be compatible with some games.
Price wise, the TJ25 expected to sell for JPY20,000 in Japan, that comes to aroung US$170 or RM640, there's where the SJ22 used to be. Nothing was mentioned on the TJ35 pricing.
