infoSync : Dell Axim X5 exposed
A new one from Dell ..... Axim X5 PocketPC.
And it gives what Dell PC normally offers, functionality at low prices.
Dell is introducing 2 models. the "high end" and a "low end" model. and the difference between the two are a 400Mhs and a 300Mhz Intel Xscale processors and RAM size, 64MB vs. 32MB (go figure which is for which model ... easy isn't it).
And what can I say about Dell's pricing ... $199 - $299. Convert that to Malaysian Ringgit (at 3.80 exchange rate), I could get my self a high end, 400Mhz Xscale, Dell PocketPC for only RM1139.00. The price range is competing directly with PalmOS PDAs. The Sony Clies entry level SJ30 is already retailing here in Malaysia at about the same price.
When the Axim X5 reach Malaysian shores, I would think first time PDA buyers would be attracted with the pricing ... even those using the "old' iPaq 36xx series would consider upgrading to this model .... well, that's my point of view. Here, price means everyhting ... brand name comes second.
