Siemens unveils ST55 camera phone
|
Hmmm .... another camera phone by Siemens. There was this MC60 which I blogged about last month. Now comes the ST55.
A run down of the specs:-
- Dual band GSM
- integrated VGA camera,
- 4x digital zoom
- 1.2 MB of memory for storing photos
- 65,536-colour TFT
- 120 x 160 pixels display
- MMS support
- 40-tone polyphonic ringtones
- GPRS Class 10
- WAP 2.0 compatible microbrowser
- PIM functionalities
- Address book offers up to 15 fields per entry
- Measuring 99 x 47 x 22 mm
- 750 mAh Lithium Ion battery
- standby time: 140 hours
- talk time: 4.5 hours
Three short comments here.
One - The 4 x digital zoom should be interesting to have on a camera phone ... claimed to be the first incorporated into one.
Two - I totally agree with
the report
by infosyncworld.com, that the 1.2MB of memory for pictures is way too small, taking into account the VGA res pix the phone is capable of snapping. An MMC/SD expansion card would be a welcome addition to the specs. Siemens are you listening.....
Three - Nothing is mentioned about Infrared and bluetooth capabilities. I think this is important nowadays with more people are looking for phones that could "talk" to their PDAs or notebook computers.
Sigh ... still no SX1. I've given up waiting for ths SX1 actually, and am now eyeing the Treo600 "communicator".
